Looking for a couple of simple visual upgrades, or do you want to make your ride a head-turner? Either way, I’ve got you covered.
The Model 3 mods I’ve picked will help you achieve your goals.
I’ve installed a few on our M3, some I’ve seen on my buddies’ cars, and most of the modifications I’ll recommend here come with positive feedback from fellow Tesla owners.
If you start digging into forums, groups, and websites selling aftermarket Tesla accessories, you’ll end up with a similar list of exterior mods. I spent many hours finding the top bargains, so if you value your time and money, stick around.

What Are the Best Tesla Model 3 Mods on My List?
I hope you figured that I’ll cover only exterior mods for Model 3. I mean, wheel covers or accessories like a screen protector, center console wrap, and Yoke steering wheel won’t really make a difference in your car’s appearance, right?
If you’re looking for a complete body kit, check out this post.
In this Best Tesla Model 3 Mods round-up, I’ll focus on good quality, cost-effective individual parts.
You can install those one at a time instead of spending a few grand on a complete kit. I apply this customization method to most of my cars.
It allows you to create a one-off look and gets you excited about each change done to your electric vehicle.
I’ll briefly touch on a couple of additional Tesla Model 3 customization options at the end. Below is the table of contents, in case you’re interested in a particular mod. Let’s get into it.
Best Front Lips for Tesla Model 3
A front lip spoiler is a small, subtle modification that can help you spice things up. It’s a great way to start customizing your Tesla Model 3 exterior. Here are my recommendations:
I understand that not everyone wants to go for a complete transformation of their Tesla Model 3. That’s why I included this budget-friendly 3-piece front lip from DOLKSN.
The lip has a nice design and is available in a glossy or matte carbon fiber finish. The lower cost is achieved with the use of ABS rather than real carbon fiber. It’s still a high-quality material, just not as light.
It will protect your original Tesla bumper from scratches and won’t lower your front end too much. So, you don’t need to worry about speed bumps as you would with other mods like custom front facia.
The DOLKSN front lip for Model 3 is the only one with so many positive reviews I found on Amazon. The company also promises to send you a new one for free if there is an issue with your order.
As reported by many who purchased the front lip installation is quick and easy. Some folks said it was a bit challenging, but I guess they didn’t watch the “How to Install” video available on the product page.
While it’s not a genuine carbon fiber, the surface looks great for a print. It will make the front of your car way more attractive.
If you’re not planning any radical body modifications, this front lip offers good value for your buck.
The AeroFlow Dynamics front lip for Model 3 is another affordable option. This one is made in the USA from lightweight aluminum, not from ABS plastic like the one from DOLKSN.
Probably the cleanest design compared to other lips available on the market for Tesla Model 3. Gloss black is the only option, and AeroFlow will send it to you professionally powder coated.
All their products are manufactured using cutting-edge CNC technology, which eliminates 99% of possible human mistakes. It also allows them to guarantee perfect fitment.
I couldn’t find any feedback on the AeroFlow Dynamics parts for Teslas. However, the US-based company has an excellent reputation in the automotive world, proven by 4.5 stars overall Google reviews.
It comes pre-drilled and with all the hardware you need to install it. The company recommends a professional installation, but I’m sure anyone with a little experience will handle it in about an hour.
A combination of simplistic design and gloss black finish, this front lip is perfect for those not looking for an aggressive appearance.
Finding a top-quality product at this price is close to impossible.
We are going to the next level with the VR Aero Tesla Model 3 front lip. This is a real carbon fiber piece created with an autoclave process to be strong, durable, and long-lasting.
The Arizona-based company has been around for more than two decades, so you should expect nothing but the best from VividRacing products. 32,000+ five-star ratings are not easy to achieve.
Their lip and the rest of the parts I have included in my list are designed to make your Tesla stand out without compromising on quality. The Solidworks 3D modeling guarantees precise fitment.
In case you’re new to the automotive customization world, I must tell you that premium aftermarket parts are not cheap. The price tag is much higher than the other two options, but it’s worth it.
Team VR claims that their Model 3 front lip installation is a simple process that can be completed in less than 30 minutes, and I can confirm that. Well, it took me about 45 minutes, to be honest.
The VR Aero lip immediately caught my eye while shopping for exterior mods.
About 9 months later, it still makes me smile when I see my Tesla Model 3 in the morning.
CMST Tuning has taken the Tesla tunning world by storm. They have 5 different genuine carbon fiber kits for Tesla Model 3 at the time of writing. The good news is every piece can be ordered individually.
The front lip you see in the photo is the latest (Version 5), but you can see all the options and choose a different one. You could also combine any lip with the rest of the CMST parts I’ll show you here.
If you start looking for info on CMST, things might look a bit shady. No address on their website, and some vendors selling their products claim CMST is based in New Jersey. Nope, they’re in China.
That doesn’t mean they’re not legit. A few years ago, CMST made a lot of noise on Social media by giving away some Mustang body kits, and their custom builds were displayed at major car shows.
Now, here is the deal. If you don’t want to pay shipping fees and Get an Extra 5% Discount with Promo Code DMOTUS, you can order CMST parts for your Model 3 from Tesery.
It’s the only Chinese-based shop for Tesla accessories I trust, and it’s not just me. Check out their customer reviews. Turnaround time is pretty good too.
If I had to start modifying my Tesla Model 3 from scratch, I would definitely try CMST tuning.
Creating a one-off look would be plenty of fun with so many premium mods to mix-match.

Best Tesla Model 3 Trunk Spoilers
A trunk spoiler is a piece of trim that extends from the edge of the trunk. A small lip-type spoiler will give a turned-up look to the rear of your electric vehicle, while a bigger wing will also impact performance.
Hansshow Trunk Lip
Again, I’ll start with the most budget-friendly option, but don’t confuse it with cheap. The Tesla Model 3 trunk lip from Hansshow is a high-quality carbon fiber product at a reasonable price.
This trunk lip won’t have a major impact on your vehicle’s performance. It’s more of an aesthetic mod to help you achieve a more sporty look for your Tesla Model 3.
It’s a small piece that matches the OEM spoiler look but is made from very light and durable carbon fiber. You can choose from matte and glossy finishes to match it with other enhancements on your car.
Hansshow is a favorite shop for many Tesla owners, including myself. This spoiler has 4.8 stars based on 40 reviews, and the good news is you can Get a minimum of 15% Discount with Promo Code DMOTUS.
Installing the lip on your Model 3 trunk is super easy, even for inexperienced DIY car guys. Plus, there is a detailed video on the product page, so nothing to worry about.
Easy to install, genuine product offered at a low cost, this rear lip spoiler is a no-brainer for those who only want to add a little performance touch.
Apply Promo Code DMOTUS at checkout.
The TGFOF trunk spoiler is another affordable option, but with a more “High-Kick” tail look. The material is high-quality 3K carbon fiber, so despite the bigger size, there are no issues with the weight.
This trunk spoiler will give your Tesla Model 3 a nice sporty line even without any additional customizations. Its size also suggests benefits for the vehicle’s stability.
The more aggressive appearance allows you to combine it with rear diffusers. The only disadvantage I see is for those who prefer a matte finish over glossy, as the first option is not available.
Customer reviews on Amazon are pretty good, with a few complaints made about shipping times during the pandemic. Model 3 owners share that the spoiler looks very nice and won’t fade.
The installation should be straightforward, with no drilling required and double-sided tape included. Even if you face any fitment issues, buyers describe the seller as very responsive.
This trunk spoiler doesn’t come from a big brand, which is why the price is in the low range.
If you don’t want to spend too much and like the glossy finish, I see no reason to pay double.
The VR trunk spoiler for Tesla Model 3 is a premium carbon fiber mod. It’s designed to be impactful to both the appearance and performance of your electric vehicle.
Rear spoilers are the modifications exposed the most to the sun. The VR piece is protected from fading with a 3K UV-resistant coating, which also means longevity.
The design of the spoiler is an excellent match for the Tesla Model 3 sedan body style. It will make a noticeable difference even without any further modification.
The spoiler is not just appealing but also functional. It will significantly enhance performance when combined with other VR Aero body parts.
Team VR promises snug fitment and installation with no challenges. Since there are no modifications required, I don’t see a reason not to trust them.
From the front lip review above, you already know how I feel about VR’s Tesla mods.
If you like the design and your budget allows top-notch parts, this is your trunk spoiler.
Again, I display the CMST tuning spoiler, which I like the most. You can check the other four versions and pick the one that suits your taste.
Each one looks stout, and the promo code DMOTUS gives you a 5% discount.
I shared my observations about CMST and their Tesla Model 3 modifications above (see the front lip overview). Long story short, they’re a Chinese company manufacturing top-quality parts.
I picked the version 5 trunk spoiler because it’s actually a wing with a very unique design. It will push your vehicle down at high speeds and get you tons of compliments when you park it.
While it’s in the same price range as the VR Aero trunk spoiler, the CMST tuning Model 3 wing is available in three finishes: glossy, matte, and forged carbon fiber.
If you don’t mind buying Chinese parts, the CMST tuning wing will make your Tesla stand out.
Remember the free shipping and the extra 5% discount with promo code DMOTUS.
Best Side Skirts for Tesla Model 3
Side skirts, or side rockers, are trim pieces that run along the bottom of the car. These are more advanced tuning accessories installed between the front and rear wheels. I wouldn’t look at skirts before adding at least a front lip. For best results, also consider a rear diffuser installation.
Similar to their front lip, the AeroFlow skirt extensions for Tesla Model 3 are distinguished with very clean styling and excellent pricing for parts made in the USA.
Made of aerospace aluminum, the side skirts are offered in glossy black to match the lip. These are quality-checked prior to shipping to ensure customer satisfaction.
AeroFlow Dynamics automotive parts have been used on some high-end custom builds and displayed at major car shows. Don’t let the low price mislead you.
Yes, the AeroFlow Tesla Model 3 mods are not made of carbon fiber, and that’s why I have them on my list. The lightweight aluminum is as good, plus not everyone is into carbon fiber.
If you’re not looking for a bold but clean, sporty appearance, the AeroFlow kit (lip, skirts, diffuser) is the best option to achieve it.
The low cost makes it a no-brainer.
The MCARCAR KIT’s Amazon store is relatively new, and most products still don’t have many reviews. However, the Tesla Model 3 side skirts are an exception.
The side skirts are made of premium 3K carbon fiber, which is both very light and strong. The surface has a sleek appearance, protected with UV clear coating.
MCARCAR is a manufacturer of tuning parts for most major auto brands. They have a good reputation on Amazon, and their Tesla mods are getting popular.
The above applies particularly to their side skirts for Tesla Model 3, which is why I have them on my list. Plus, there are no other options with positive feedback.
Reading comments like “definitely above the bar” or “the shop I brought it to had to do ZERO work to get these to fit properly” makes me feel confident in recommending the Model 3 side skirts.
You already know each one of the VR Tesla Model 3 mods is meant to take your car to the next level. Therefore, you should expect to pay a premium price.
The pre-impregnated 2×2 carbon fiber weave guarantees strength and offers superior styling. The durability and longevity are achieved thanks to the autoclave formation.
When combined with the VR front lip, the skirts give your Tesla Model 3 an eye-catching stance. These mods make the car look lower and battle the airflow more efficiently.
Both glossy and matte finishes are available, so if you want to modify your Tesla using parts from different manufacturers, these skirts can be part of your selection.
Yes, I’m slightly biased about VR’s car mods, but at least I put my money where my mouth is.
I haven’t seen skirts that match the Tesla Model 3 curvature so well yet.
While there are 5 versions of CMST’s front lips and trunk spoilers, for some reason, they only have 3 options for Tesla Model 3 side skirts.
As mentioned earlier in the round-up, CMST tuning parts are made in China. However, these are top-notch mods made of premium carbon fiber and with impressive styling.
Honestly, all the skirts look the same to me, so it’s best if you check those out and pick one. If you overcome that challenge, don’t forget the extra 5% discount with promo code DMOTUS.
If you already have your eyes on any of the Tesla Model 3 mods from CMST tuning, I recommend getting the skirts as well.
They all look like a good match to their lips and spoilers.
Best Tesla Model 3 Rear Diffusers
Diffusers are tuning parts attached to the rear bumper of your car. These come in various designs to help you achieve a clean, sporty look or very aggressive appearance.
JC SPORTLINE Rear Diffuser
JC Sportline focuses on high-quality carbon fiber mods for sports and luxury cars, including Teslas. The brand has a good overall reputation on Amazon.
Depending on the look you’re after for your Model 3, you can get just the diffuser or combine it with splitters (fins). I added a couple of photos to give you a better idea.
JC Sportline’s rear diffuser for Tesla Model 3 has a high-gloss finish, allowing you to combine it with any other real carbon fiber body mod on your car.
Installation is done with tape and screws, but don’t worry. There is no need to make any alterations to your bumper. You’ll have to drill three holes into the rear facia.
The use of screws makes the rear diffuser easy to install for the DIYers and more secure at high speeds. While some folks install diffusers with 3M tape only, it’s not recommended.
The splitters are very light, and the tape is enough to hold them. They wrap around the wheel without sticking out too much, as opposed to other fins on the market.
Finding a carbon fiber rear diffuser for your Tesla Model 3 with precise fitment verified by buyers at that cost…it’s close to impossible!
As for the splitters, I think the diffuser looks incomplete without them, but it’s up to you.
Like the other Tesla Model 3 mods from AeroFlow I listed here, their diffuser is made in the US from ultra-light aluminum and comes professionally powder coated in glossy black.
If you picked the AeroFlow Dynamics front lip, their diffuser is the perfect match for it. The other Tesla Model 3 diffusers I’ve seen are more aggressive, and most are made of carbon fiber.
The size and material don’t make it inefficient. As you can see in the photo, the vertical fins are in place and will reduce drag. Of course, for better control of the airflow, you need at least the lip.
If you own a white or black Tesla, the AeroFlow parts will look great on it as they come in glossy black. The skirts and the diffuser are pre-drilled, and there is an installation video on the product page.
The AeroFlow mods are unmatched when it comes to price. Don’t confuse it with ABS plastic mods in this range.
The entire kit will cost you less than a rear diffuser from VR, to give you an example.
The carbon fiber VR rear diffuser for Tesla Model 3 stands out with its appearance. Like the other parts of their Aero kit, this one is strong, durable, and protected from fading.
The diffuser is designed to complete the stout look of your Tesla Model 3 after you have installed at least a lip and/or side skirts. I don’t have this piece yet but trust VR with their promise for a perfect fitment.
A top-notch mod like VR’s diffuser will not only enhance the appearance of your car; it will also deliver the full performance and handling benefits expected when you’re paying for a premium product.
In my opinion, there is no other diffuser offering a combination of elegance and aggression that blends so well with Tesla’s DNA.
You’ll be more than happy with what you get for your buck.
The situation with CMST diffusers for Tesla Model 3 is the same as with their skirts. There are 3 options you’ll see on the product page. I picked this one because it also has optional canards.
When you open the product page, the Version 5 diffuser (the one in the photo) is displayed with a significantly lower price tag. Actually, this is the cost of the rear canards only.
All three options are made of genuine carbon fiber, clear-coated for UV protection, and will transform your Tesla Model 3 into a head-turner. I dig the one with the canards.
I want to emphasize one more time the fact that I have no personal experience with CMST mods for Tesla Model 3. All I know is they’re a Chinese company making premium tuning parts, and people are happy with the looks and quality.
I’ve bought many items from Tesery, which sells CMST products and have no complaints. Free shipping, no import tax, and a 5% discount using promo code DMOTUS is a sweet deal.
Combining different CMST mods offers an opportunity to make your Tesla Model 3 truly unique.
Their products are pricey, so talk to Tesery’s customer support to avoid any availability and shipping issues.
Best Tesla Model 3 Lighting Upgrades
I see no reason to explain what lighting upgrades for Tesla Model 3 are. Obviously, there won’t be any impact on the performance of your electric car. But when it comes to looks, these exterior mods make a big difference. Let’s look at the top options.
Eagle Eye Tail Light Upgrade
I’ll start with my favorite Tesla Model 3 lighting upgrade, the Eagle Eye tail light I recently bought for my car. It’s a plug-and-play mod and looks awesome at night.
The dynamic effects of light sequences from inside to outside will personalize your Tesla Model 3 by giving it the modern look it deserves.
The Eagle Eye upgrade is a replacement for your OEM tail lights. It works on both 3 and 4 pins, meaning you can install it on any year Tesla Model 3.
The only difference is that for older versions of Model 3 (prior to 2021), both the Eagle Eye red brake lights and the orange turn signals will illuminate when you hit the brake pedal.
With my Promo Code DMOTUS, I was able to get the Eagle Eye tail lights at the best price online. You Get a 15% Discount on all the Hansshow lighting upgrades.
Knight Rider Tail Light Strip
I understand not everyone wants to bother replacing their Tesla Model 3 tail lights. If that’s you, check out the Hansshow full-width Knight Rider strip.
The Knight Rider strip syncs with your OEM Tesla tail light dynamic effects to significantly enhance both the appearance and safety of your Model 3.
Made of premium materials, this Model 3 tail light upgrade is waterproof and won’t fade from the sun. The innovative LED light beads ensure low energy consumption.
Looking at the detailed guide provided on the product page, installation seems to be relatively easy. A nice upgrade that won’t impact your Tesla warranty.
The different modes of this Tesla Model 3 lighting upgrade will definitely make your car stand out (videos on the product page).
Using Promo Code DMOTUS at the checkout will get you at least a 15% Discount on all Hansshow parts and accessories.
Oracle Headlight DRL Upgrade
Being one of the fastest growing businesses in the U.S., Oracle is the undisputed leader in automotive lighting, with several SEMA awards. I think you get the point.
Oracle offers two separate headlight DRL kits. One for the 2017-2020 Tesla Model 3 and another one for 2021+ vehicles that come with projector headlights.
The 2017-2020 Model 3 owners can get the kit with four colors available for their DLR lights and add one of the color shift controllers for extra patterns.
The customizable headlight DRL kit that comes with Oracle’s advanced Dynamic color shifter and top notch LED components is available to 2021+ Model 3 owners.
Both options are very effective for customizing the eyes of your Tesla and are guaranteed to turn heads. Installation is easy, as well as going back to white DRLs.
If you want to play with your headlights and have no issues, bet on a company that specializes in automotive lighting upgrades.
Right now, the best price for Oracle’s Model 3 Headlight DRL upgrade, along with video guides, is on Evannex.
If you’re not a fan of aftermarket lighting upgrades but want to enhance the eyes of your Tesla Model 3, tinting is the way to go.
The Bogar Tech Designs tint kit for Tesla Model 3 is the best I found online. You can have all your lights blacked out or only get the overlays for the front of your car.
The material is thick and strong, and besides the visual impact, it will also protect your Tesla headlights as it’s a Paint Protection Film.
Last but not least, Bogar Tech Designs is a small US-based company. If you have any questions about the tint kit installation, they’ll be happy to assist you.
Don’t want to spend time and money on headlight replacements?
This Model 3 tint kit comes at a very low cost, customers are happy with it, and you can easily remove it anytime.
Additional Mods for Tesla Model 3
As I’ve mentioned in the beginning, I’ll briefly cover some additional customization options you’ve probably considered. These are available for all Tesla models and surely can contribute to your car’s head-turning appearance.
The reason I didn’t get into details about wheels, suspension, and minor carbon fiber exterior mods is that I already have articles on those. I don’t want to repeat myself or add fluff to my blogs, so below are the links.
Everything from bolt patterns and offsets to the wheels’ width and overall diameter will impact your car. If you’re not familiar with all the Model 3 wheel specs and want to know how to achieve a perfect fit, read my Tesla Model 3 Aftermarket Wheels Fitment Guide.
If you already know all about the fitment, then you may want to check my Best Rims for Tesla Model 3 post. I only recommend 19″ and 20″ wheels from reputable brands with positive customer reviews and decent price tags. If you can’t find the right offset, consider adding wheel spacers.
Let’s face it. The stock suspension of Tesla vehicles doesn’t really look right. Lowering the car is one of the most common modifications among Model 3 owners for a reason. If you want to get a proper ride height but are not sure which option to go for, read my How to Lower Model 3 guide.
If you’re like me, enjoying the performance of your Tesla Model 3 but not planning to take it to a race track, lowering springs is the way to go. I personally use Eibach, but in my Best Model 3 Lowering Springs round-up, I cover some other brands as well as sway bars.
Other Carbon Fiber Mods
Carbon fiber is a very effective way to add some style to both the exterior and interior of your Tesla. I’ve tried some carbon fiber imitations on my cars in the past, and it won’t happen again. I’m sure you don’t want your cool Tesla Model 3 to look cheap. Only buy genuine carbon fiber.
Are you interested in some real carbon fiber mods? I have an excellent selection to help you enhance and protect both the exterior and interior of your car. All items in my Best Tesla Carbon Fiber Mods are top-rated by Tesla owners and certainly not overpriced like on other websites.
Frequently Asked Questions
Let’s wrap this up with a couple of common questions I see asked online. I hope you found what you were looking for. Good luck with your Tesla customization.
What is the Purpose of a Tesla Model 3 Front Lip?
Lip spoilers improve the traction and stability of your Tesla Model 3 by reducing the air that goes underneath the vehicle. Achieving better aerodynamics, this mod can positively impact your Tesla’s range, especially when combined with some of the other mods we’ll discuss.
Can You Add a Spoiler to a Tesla Model 3?
Yes, you can add a trunk spoiler to Tesla Model 3. Depending on the size, a spoiler can have a significant impact on your EV handling and stability. Rear wings are very popular accessories among sports car owners as they prevent lift at high speeds by pushing the vehicle down.
What is the Point of Adding Tesla Model 3 Side Skirts?
Similar to spoilers and rear wings, Tesla Model 3 side skirts change the airflow direction. By redirecting the air, this mod adds pressure to the top of your electric vehicle to enhance performance and control.
What is the Role of the Tesla Model 3 Diffuser?
High-quality Tesla Model 3 diffusers are designed to improve your vehicle’s overall performance by reducing aerodynamic drag and increasing downforce. Cheap plastic diffusers will still make your Tesla look sportier but also less efficient due to the extra weight.
